The custom retail store owner was looking for a commercial flooring company specializing in concrete resurfacing and polished concrete floors, and AllStar Concrete Coatings was called to see if we could complete the project. After looking at multiple commercial flooring options, Allstar did multiple samples to get the colors and look they were trying to achieve. The floor needed to be not only beautiful and functional, but they expected it to have great wearability with a long life expectancy. 

Polished Concrete Floors Austin, TX – Project Goals & Outcomes

Allstar Concrete Coatings was hired to apply concrete resurfacing and polished concrete floors in Austin, Texas. The floor first needed the tile removed followed by concrete grinding to remove the thinset and leave a clean surface for the overlay. We then set zinc terrazzo strips to create a look that would transition into their cabinet layout. After laying the divider strips, the floor needed to have an epoxy primer with a full sand broadcast to create a nice surface for the concrete resurfacer to bond to. The overlay mix had an integral color additive mixed in before being poured and raked to the specified depth covering the entire store. The finish was then ground to flatten and expose the zinc strips before being sealed and polished to a high sheen. The end result was a consistently beautiful surface that could handle the high traffic that comes from being in a retail setting.
